At Andrex, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our products and achieving meaningful progress towards sustainability for all our consumers and our planet.
Proudly manufacturing in the UK since 1942
- We have two manufacturing sites in the UK, one in Kent and one in Cumbria.
- 90% of the electricity used at these sites comes from renewable sources.
- All of our packaging contains at least 30% recycled plastic material.
Responsibly sourced fibres
- Andrex products are manufactured from a mixture of materials from FSC-Certified and controlled sources.
- Our ambition is to be 100% Natural Forest Fibre Free in all products beyond 2030 and currently all of our dry toilet tissue products contain up to 80% fast growing eucalyptus fibres.
- Eucalyptus only takes six to seven years to grow before harvesting and can sequester up to 10-11 tonnes of CO2 per hectare per year (under optimal conditions) storing it in above-ground biomass.
- The length and characteristics of eucalyptus fibres result in tissue with superior softness and strength.
*An FSC forest management certification confirms that the forests are being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. FSC certified forests are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
